About SJW
The St. John's Wood FC idea is to develop players who enjoy competition. Sportsmanship ard fun are central to developing a healthy attitude to competition and sport. We develop our players to want to do their best within the rules and enjoy all parts of the game. We coach strategy, technique and tactics to problem solve and develop transferable skills by promoting critical thinking. We also aim to offer all players a full experience of what the game has to offer.
Our club operates as a soccer school by virtue of our members being mixed ability boys and girls and having multiple teams in each age group.
The mixed ability format can be challenging and it takes a special type of coach to teach within this format. Our coaches are able to conduct adaptable all-inclusive games, circuits and sessions for any reasonable and changing number of participants. We are also able to coach mixed ability participants effectively within the same group with each participant challenged accordingly. We also coach many other sports as after school and extra curricular activities and we use these transferable skills in every sport we coach. All our coaches have:
• Experience in similar settings
• Clear methodology
• Worked with a range of participants
• Relevant success using proven methodology
• Ability to measure progression and talent
• Certification in multiple sports
Our club SJW FC is governed by the English Football Association (The FA) through our affiliation to our county FA 'The London FA'. Whilst we adhere to all our FA's policies we have our own child protection & equality policy and a standard code of conduct and club rules. We are a charter standard club complete with public liability insurance, all of our coaches have individual liability insurance as it is a requirement for a licensed FA coach and charter standard status requires clubs to have FA licensed coaches.
St. John's Wood FC is an 'unincorporated association' that sources suitable sports coaching opportunities helping coach's dedicate themselves to sport and youth full time.
Charter Standard Status:-
Is an accreditation from The FA that acknowledges clubs who are:
- Well organized, safe and offers opportunities to all.
- Has FA qualified coach's as standard and licensed coach's.
- Adheres to FA Respect Policies and Codes of Conduct.
- Prioritizes Child Welfare.
- Maintains appropriate levels of discipline.
- Has access to the County FA and FA regional workforces.
SJW SPORTS CO. IN SCHOOLS
We’ve gradually built a strong team of coaches that best represent the direction in which we want our club to go. We carry our values into all the sports we coach. We work with amazing schools and currently run sports programs in Westminster School, Eversley Primary School, Merryhills Primary School, St Eugene's De Mazmood, St. Mary's Primary School, Southbank International School and The American School in London.
